Hiking around Whistler

Still on the warm, mushy snow side of things - time to get out and hike (a repeat hike from yesterday as well as a new location).

Brandywine Waterfall

Short but fun hike through the forest, across the train tracks, leads to this spectacular waterfall.  A short drive south of Whistler.

A stunning day driving through Vancouver and up the Sea-to-Sky highway to Whistler.

Canadian Rockies

We finished our trip in the Great White North by flying from Winnipeg to Calgary, and spending a few days in the Canadian Rockies.  We've been there in the summer, and it is amazing - but somehow it's even more beautiful in the winter.

Happy Thanksgiving - Polar Bear Bloopers

We hope everyone in the US is enjoying Thanksgiving - we are celebrating up in Canada, and remembering a few polar bear blooper shots....

Polar Bear close encounters

We had an amazing time with the bears.  They are intelligent, curious, adaptable, strong, beautiful & particularly well suited for the arctic climate.  Let's hope we don't push the limits of their adaptability.

We were lined up inside the fence, and she made repeated trips to see us.  She was probably 3 feet away from us here

After a brief grumpy exchange, the bear in the foreground drove the 3rd bear away



Then it was time for a rest by the fence, in front of the dining room
